Job Title: Business Systems and Quality Analyst Department: PMO
Responsible for defining business and functional requirements for the creation of effective, actionable user stories that drive product development ensuring the software products and experiences delivered align to product vision and business objectives. This role is also responsible for planning and executing all aspects of the validation phase of the SDLC process including creation of the test suite (plan, scenarios, cases) traceable to functional and technical requirements and validation to ensure final product satisfies product requirements and meets end-user standards. The ideal candidate is a hand-on professional that is detail oriented, highly analytical and has both business and technical acumen.
Major Duties and Essential Functions:
- Work with stakeholders across various business units to understand needs and document business requirements.
Interpret and translate business requirements into functional specifications and current and future state business process diagrams.
Create a project test suite (plan, scenarios, cases) traceable to business and functional requirements.
Create automated test cases when possible.
Condition data to meet test scenarios.
Perform smoke testing, system testing, regression testing, sanity testing and document results.
Test products, systems, and software to guarantee they are defect-free and fulfill the quality standards of an organization.
Identify, document, and track issues found during testing and coordinate with business units, project team, and third-party vendors to triage and resolve issues.
Provide QA sign-off.
Serve as a subject matter expert on all front-end and back-end systems used by the Credit Union.
Coordinate and oversee user acceptance testing with business owners and end-users and obtain UAT sign off.
- Work with vendors and project team to successfully launch new or enhanced products through testing, communication strategy preparation, and overall support of the launch.
Collaborate with training team on rollout of new product features and enhancements.
- Escalate risks that will directly impact project timelines and deliverables.

- Ability to define business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
Ability to create a project test suite (plan, scenarios, cases) traceable to business and functional requirements.
Experience testing front-end and back-end development.
Experience with automated testing a plus.
SQL skills a plus.
Ability to document and troubleshoot errors.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and promote a positive attitude toward teamwork.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Knowledge of banking products and services as well as digital banking.
Experience testing customer facing digital applications.
Experience testing Symitar Episys core banking application a plus.
Strong critical-thinking, logic, and problem-solving skills.
Superior time management and organizational skills with experience working on multiple projects/tasks with multiple deadlines.
Proficient in relevant software applications, including Microsoft Office, Confluence, Jira, and Azure DevOps.
Strong adaptability through changing priorities and responding to issues as they come up while executing the portfolio strategy.
Strong ability to understand business and customer needs, customer and/or user experience management, product analysis and technology capabilities.
Agile/SCRUM experience specifically in user story / acceptance criteria development.
Extremely organized and detail-oriented; capable of self-managing and multi-tasking in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing business priorities and a strong work ethic.
Experience collaborating with a team of programmers with varying skill sets.
Experience :
- 2+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role
- 2+ years of experience as a Quality Analyst or similar role
- 2+ years of financial industry experience preferred
- Experience with Banno/Jack Henry products preferred
Education : Minimum of bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or related field, or equivalent in a combination of education and quality assurance experience. Certification in Software Quality Assurance is preferred.
