Our client is a world leader in highly-reliable filtration and fluid control equipment and subsystems and miniature CAD/PAD devices, providing innovative, value-added solutions for a full range of mission, flight and life-critical operations across the Aerospace and Defense markets. They are currently hiring for a Buyer.
Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment and supplies from vendors.
Assist department in the evaluation of goods and services, resolves conflicts regarding materials or services favorable terms, discounts and Long-term contracts with suppliers.
Pull requirements from Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) system, quote and procure parts and materials while working with drawings, specifications, custom reports and other sources of information
Analyze the requirements of the commodity, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date commodity is needed
Evaluate suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements and develop additional sources of supply and technologies as required
Research and analyze data and develop recommendations to resolve issues
Solicit and evaluate proposals for the requested commodity
Negotiate with suppliers, sourcing items with suppliers for the lowest possible cost for the commodity balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs
Assure the commodity is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company, while minimizing the cost impact to inventory
Implement and maintain purchase contracts that comply with company and government regulations
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Excellent communication skills
Relationship building and management skills
In depth understanding and knowledge of the industry
High school diploma or equivalent
2-3 yrs. of Purchasing experience
Knowledge of MRP software and Microsoft Office.
