Spherion is currently seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist for a Manufacturing Company located in Lafayette.
This is a temp-to-hire, full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to showcase your expertise in machining operations.

The CNC Machinist will be responsible for operating CNC Mills and/or Lathes to manufacture metallic and non-metallic parts.
The role involves maintaining quality and safety standards, conducting inspections, documenting measurements, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring the efficient operation of the machines.
Additionally, the CNC Machinist will collaborate with the team to make suggestions for process improvement.
Responsibilities:
Prioritize Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards to maintain an injury-free working environment.
Continuously seek ways to improve production efficiency.
Adhere to company Quality and HSE standards.
Manufacture products to customer and industry specifications.
Perform 100% inspection, document measurements, and utilize prevention/detection methods.
Set up and operate CNC machines, adjusting factors like speed, feed, and coolant flow.
Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on machines and equipment.
Communicate effectively with management regarding machine-related activities.
Handle forklifts for material handling.
Interpret blueprints, use inspection tools, and maintain close tolerances.
Recognize and communicate problems promptly.
Operate a forklift.
Working hours: 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Formal training in programming and operating CNC machines preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience operating CNC machines preferred.
5 Axis machining experience is a plus.
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
Close attention to accuracy and precision.
Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules and blueprints.
Proficiency in using inspection tools.
Understanding of CAD/CAM technology.
Mechanical and technical skills.
Strong math skills.
Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Self-motivated and capable of setting goals independently.
