Spherion is seeking a CNC Machinist for a Youngsville, LA area based company. Responsible for overseeing the daily functions of manufacturing machinery. Duties include running tests before the start of operations, programming and monitoring machines when assembling products and inspecting machinery at the end of each shift to identify parts needing repair.Shift: Monday - Friday 4:00AM - 4:00PM and every other Saturday 4a-4pPay Rate: $15 - $22 - depending on experienceSteel Toe Boots required and must clear drug screen and physicalResponsibilities:Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct functionPrepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machinePrepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specificationsSet machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of partsSupervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better resultInspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properlyWorking hours: 4:00 AM - 4:00 PMSkills:Above average math skills for inputting specific dimensions and figures into the CNC machineryAbility to analyze the information provided on blueprints or other explanatory documents to make sure the final product matches the draftExcellent computer skills as CNC Operators use computer software to control machineryUnderstanding of how the machine works to maintain the machinery for which they are responsible and ensure it functions properly.
