A component engineer monitors, tests, and evaluates different kinds of components in a particular production line. A component engineer is essential in a company that uses the assembly line process of manufacturing as each component must perform efficiently to avoid disruption in the production process. The component engineer is expected to provide reports about each production component, identify areas that need improvements or repairs, and suggest upgrades whenever applicable and necessary.

Responsibilities:
Support new product development by managing prototype hardware builds and providing input on riskareas & DFM issues to development team.
Manage and verify parametric content for a 16-million-part database of semiconductor, passive andelectro-mechanical components.
Insure DFM, DFT and overall success of projects move from development to long term production.
Review, inspect, troubleshoot, and provide assistance to the shop fl oor for high volume assembly line.
Provide contract manufacturer with alternates and cost saving substitutes for PCB components.
Create component library and resource hard to fi nd PCB components.
Recommend alternative parts; maintain a consolidated list of Electrical, Electronic and Electromechanical(EEE) components for all projects.
Support mechanical and electronic design engineers to resolve DFM issues and simplify assemblies.
Working hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Must have hands-on component engineering experience dealing with electronic, electric, electromechanical and mechanical COTS components.
Ability to identify, analyze, and solve technical problems associated with electronic and/or mechanical parts.
Experience reading specific cations, datasheets, prints and process documents.
Working knowledge of military standards is desired.
Experienced in technical management of suppliers during a product development phase is desired.

Strong Excel, Access, MS Word, Power Point, skills required. Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills. Good analytical skills. Very detail-oriented, accurate and organized. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Able to work independently and as part of a team Confidentiality and Time Management considerations are essential .Education Required: A BS or advanced degree in mechanical, electrical, computer science or related field is required.
