Responsibilities:
Construction employees work as part of the construction crew to bury communication cables or any other physical plant construction required. Must be very knowledgeable on operating backhoes, cable plows, directional drills, cable reels, and trailers. Routinely handles underground cables, fills trenches, cleans up at job sites, splices fiber cables, and performs restoration of construction areas to the customers satisfaction.
Frequently locates, guards and reroutes cables and pedestals as required per municipal and county requests. Operates fault locating test gear to determine the location of cable faults. Repairs and replaces damaged stub poles and pedestals. Occasionally pumps out, cleans, and repairs manholes and handholes.
Maintains construction vehicles and construction equipment and performs snow removal. Works on projects involving cement, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.
Any other duties that may arise and be assigned.
Must communicate and work cooperatively with all employees
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Skills:
CDL license would be ideal, but not required. Company will assist in obtaining
Must wear work boots. Steel Toed not required.
1-2 years of technical college education is preferred, but not required.

1-4 years
Qualifications:
High School Diploma required
Valid drivers license is required. Driving, generally a company vehicle, is required.
Able to pass required screening including a Background and Drug Screen.
Previous construction experience is required, along with ability to operate construction equipment.
Physical effort varies based upon the work that is being performed. Job may be very physical if work being performed is construction, medium physical effort if work is being performed at customer premise, and light physical effort if work is performed in central office or garage.
Work must be well thought out and planned to ensure a high-quality job will be performed
This is a Direct Hire position, starting with the company on day 1 and eligible for Benefits.

PAY RANGE: $20-$28/HR
