Work may include; building a variety of weld jigs and fixtures, machining and assembly fixtures from design plans. This person can perform production machining and maintenance work as needed. Works from complicated drawings and sketches and has a good understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Some knowledge of CNC programming, setup and operation is desired.Responsibilities:Performs highly skilled fitting, adjusting, and timing of the above items. Assist with the set-up and operate all die casting machines and trim presses, in the efficient and safe production of qualityzinc parts.Responsibilities:Operate (manually or automatically) die casting machine and trim press to produce the required number of quality parts foreach order. May assist in having tooling and gaging pre-set, pre-staged and ready to deliver to machine prior to set up.Assist with set up of die casting machines and automatic extractors so they function properly in the production of quality zincparts. - Clean machine, inspect and mount new die in the proper manner, make necessary hookups and settings, proceed tomake first shot together with necessary adjustments for the desired quality of a zinc part. - Obtain approval from Lead forproduction run. Routinely check the quality of parts run. Set up trim tools and operate trim press for die cast parts not self-trimmed by machine and make routine quality checks on parts trimmed. 6. Maintain accurate production records. Understandand may operate other die casting machines, trim presses and support equipment in the department as production requiresor during machine breakdowns. May fill in for Pot Tender as work load requires. Safely operate burnisher machines while maintaining established quality standards, work schedules, deburring of parts forfurther operations.Responsibilities:Use lift to load parts into burnisher.Fill burnisher machine with required amount of parts, set machine checks to ensure burnishing chemicals are beingdispensed and sprayers are working properly.Runs burnisher for required time and removes burnished parts; properly sets unloading gate so separator and dryer are notoverloaded.Adds burnishing media to vibratory burnisher as necessary.Cleans overflow baskets and screens as necessary to keep burnishers in good operating condition.Checks burnished parts to ensure established quality and processing standards are being met.Moves parts to and from burnishing locations.Follows dispatch list in ordering parts in preparation for particular job to be done.Maintains accurate production records and resolves shop order discrepancies.Keeps work areas around machines in a clean and orderly fashion to minimize safety hazards.Notifies Lead or Supervisor of operation problems and unsafe conditions.Performs preventative maintenance to maintain equipment.Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge / Skills / AbilitiesWorking hours: 3:00 PM - 10:00 PMSkills:Manual dexterity to operate, adjust and maintain burnishing machines.
