Our client, a food manufacturer in Sandusky, Ohio, is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician/Millwright to join their maintenance team during early morning hours. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of food processing and packaging equipment, with a strong emphasis on adhering to food safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and setup of food processing and packaging machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Compliance: Ensure all work complies with SQF, GMP, HACCP standards, and other food safety regulations.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical issues quickly and effectively, implementing repairs to minimize downtime.
- Electrical Knowledge: Work with single-phase and three-phase electrical systems to troubleshoot and repair machinery.
- Welding and Plumbing: Utilize welding and plumbing skills for various maintenance tasks, enhancing equipment reliability.
- Emergency Response: Be on call for emergency repairs, demonstrating a high level of dependability and responsiveness.
- Team Collaboration: Work well both independently and as part of a team, contributing to a positive and efficient work environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in maintenance roles within a food processing manufacturing facility.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in the repair, maintenance, and setup of food processing and packaging equipment.
- Electrical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electric systems.
- Welding & Plumbing: Experience in welding and plumbing is highly desired.
- Tools: Must own basic American and metric tools.
- Additional Skills: Experience with refrigeration and boiler operation is a plus.
