Responsibilities:
The Calibration Technician provides gage calibration, repair, & servicing on our customers' gaging and measuring devices, including electronic, torque, force, pressure, mass, and dimensional gages. Work includes repairing of dimensional, mechanical, and/or electronic instruments, as well as on-site field service requiring some travel. This position will support our mechanical and electronic calibrations, including defining procedures, equipment needs, training, trouble-shooting, repairs, etc.
Skills:
- Technical knowledge and experience in calibration operations, uncertainty analysis, proficiency testing, and general metrology, desired.
- Formal calibration training, preferred
- ASQ Certified Calibration Technician certificate, desired.
- PMEL (Precision Measuring Equipment Laboratory) training, preferred
- GPTE (General Purpose Test Equipment) training, preferred
- Indy Soft software experience, preferred
- Tool Room experience helpful, but not required
- CMM experience helpful, but not required
Qualifications:
- A valid drivers license and good driving record.
- Electrical/electronics experience.
- Able to be on your feet a good portion of the day.
- Must have mechanical, and/or dimensional aptitudes.
- Hands-on electronics calibration experience, such as calibrations of O-scopes, HiPot, counters, power supplies, meters, thermocouples, etc. with Fluke 5500/5520 calibrator; or mechanical training, including torque, pressure, force, mass, and scales; or dimensional training, including hard gaging, threads, CMM, optical comparators, hand tools, etc. (required)
- Attention to detail and accuracy of work.
- Communication, computer (Microsoft Excel and Word), interaction, planning, & organizing skills
- Physical abilities to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, stand/maneuver, take readings, etc., related to conducting calibration & repair activities, both in the lab and on-site in the field. (required)
