The Professional Division of Spherion Mid Ohio is partnered with a vital non-profit organization in Mansfield, Ohio seeking an Executive Director. The Executive Director will sit at the helm of the organization, steering it, managing its operations, and carrying out its mission according to the strategic direction set it motion.
Salary of up to $85K offered based on experience.

Responsibilities of the Executive Director:
- Provide day-to-day leadership and direction in the development, management, implementation and evaluation on all aspects of the operations of the organization.
- Supervise, direct, support, and coach staff/volunteers while ensuring a positive culture by promoting teamwork and collaboration internally.
- Oversee hiring, training, and continuous development of staff.
- Ensure job descriptions are developed, regular performance evaluations held, and new development opportunities are presented.
- Cultivate community building activities that benefit the work and mission of the organization while supporting growth of relationships to increase the visibility of the organization.
- Be present and active in community coalitions, networks, and other groups within the area.
- Help to create new programming and ensure quality assurance of current programming, activities, and services offered.
- Plan and prepare board meetings, provide structure, and meeting agenda effectively.
- Prepare business plans, collect information, and provide recommendations that allow Board members to make informed decisions as it relates to policies, services, and strategic work.
- Work closely with the board to assist in recruitment and orientation of new board members.
- Assist in the creation, implementation, and support of the strategic plan.
- Carry out all plans, policies and procedures as authorized by the Board of Directors.
- Act as a professional advisor to the Board of Director on all aspects of the organization's activities by actively engaging with and creating a culture of philanthropy.
- Represent the organization positively with the media, public officials, and other community leaders.
- Secure new donors and in collaboration with the Development Director create and maintain community relationships that foster fundraising initiatives.
- Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with community groups, funders, and other organizations to help achieve the goals of the organization.
- Prepare and manage annual agency budget and financial reporting.
- Oversee expenditures to ensure the financial well-being of organization by ongoing review of monthly financial reports, final grant period expenditures and auditing.
- Follow required grant expectations and utilize funds appropriately while ensuring proper grant reporting.
- Obtain funding for programs & services through development activities, grant opportunities, and collaborative relationships.
- Explore new growth by leading and advancing fundraising opportunities and efforts.
- Research new funding opportunities, ensure positive funder relationships, and educate community & key stakeholders of their effectiveness.
Qualifications of the Executive Director:
Bachelors Degree required, Master’s degree preferably in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice or relating to mental health. Minimum 5 years’ experience in nonprofit management, including budget preparation/management, supervision, and board management. Minimum 3 years’ experience with fundraising. Minimum 3 years’ experience with grant writing, budgeting, and grant management.
