Essential Duties and responsibilities1. Advises clients and parents on various forms of financial aid including federal financial aid (Title IV),veteran's benefits, alternative loans, scholarships, state vocational rehab, military tuition assistance andother payment options.2. Assists with auditing of client records. Revises awards when adding outside tuition assistance such asscholarship awards, employer tuition assistance, military tuition assistance or any other outsideassistance for educational purposes.3. Reconciles discrepancies in financial aid regarding loans through written and oral communications withstaff of the (NSLDS) and the Common Origination and Disbursement(COD) processor.4. (ISIR) C-codes including selective service issues,Social Security number verification, and citizenship/immigration status.5. Reviews and analyzes FAFSA and Financial Aid documentation, follow up on missing or inconsistent data,and ensure clients award packages are completed timely.6. Exercises professional judgment to determine if adjustments should be made; makes award adjustmentsand recalculations on less complex cases, as appropriate.7. Conducts client orientations, entrance and exit interviews in accordance with federal, university andagency guidelines.8. Reviews loan related financial documents for accuracy and provides signature approval/disapproval.9. On occasion, interacts with third party affiliates to include, but not limited to: Department of Education(DoE), loan servicers, and third party financial aid partners.10. Participates in the review and adjudication of appeals for scholarships and academic progress.11. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

- Effective communication skills to support interaction with client from diverse socio-economic backgrounds regarding financial aid program requirements and procedures - Ability to exercise sound judgment in reviewing and screening applications for financial aid when determining eligibility and evaluating special circumstances - Proficiency in using CampusVue - Proficiency in use of Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and email - Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action - Ability to perform business math computations and maintain accurate financial records - Ability to research, analyze and evaluate service delivery methods and techniques. - Ability to understand and follow instructions - Ability to plan and organize work and meet schedules and timelines - Knowledge of financial aid regulatory requirements including Title IV - Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with individuals and groups effectively.
Reading Comprehension / Active Listening / Critical Thinking / Monitoring & Assessing Performance /Service Orientation / Time Management /Writing Qualifications -Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. -Experience below a plus but not necessary. Financial aid, VA, and Tuition Assistance programs ? Working knowledge or familiarity with CampusNexus or another client information system.
