The Professional Division of Spherion Mid Ohio is partnered with an evolving Ashland manufacturing facility seeking a Group Leader to join their team for 2nd shift – working 3pm-11pm. Come be a part of this forward-thinking and growing team!
Group Leader range of pay is based on experience ranging from $18- $25hour.

The Group Leader will oversee the production team on their shift, set up new job orders, troubleshoot production problems and assist with operator’s workday needs. Work performed will be completed using quality, safety, and teamwork standards that are established by management. The quality of our products and satisfaction of our customers is determined solely by the dedication and teamwork that is involved in the manufacturing process.
Essential Job Duties:
- Must adhere to all safety and precautionary procedures.
- Read and understand work instructions and specification sheets.
- Produce quality parts, inspect for quality defects, and identify rejects.
- Cross train on all machines, finishing, and packaging in order to cover operator’s breaks.
- Ensure that operators are accurately completing production paperwork.
- Ensure that operators are adequately maintaining mold conditions.
- Monitor all machines and manufacturing processes.
- Oversee shop floor and assure good housekeeping standards are being met.
- Direct/assign employees to workstations per written daily work schedule.
- Communicate quality and scrap issues to all affected employees.
- Ensure all manufacturing procedures/ ISO procedures are being followed.
- Responsible for production change overs and machine set up.
- Communicate new product changes/procedures to operators, finishers and oncoming shift coordinators.
- Make sure all work instructions/work orders are out at each machine.
- Any finished work orders/work instructions need turned in to plant scheduler.
- Communicate any personnel issues to Supervisors or Managers.
- Identify and implement improvements within the department
- Trouble shoot machine issues, quality problems, and non-conforming products.

Must be 18 years of age or older
High school diploma/GED preferred.
Two years of manufacturing leadership experience required.
Microsoft Office experience preferred.
