The Human Resources Assistant will perform administrative duties related to the operations of the human resource office.
Responsibilities:
Answers all departmental phone calls, transfers to designated HR employee if necessary
Handles all employee walk-ins, sets up employee meetings with HR Manager, HR Generalist, and/or HR Coordinator as necessary

Runs errands as necessary for the HR Department
Handles scheduling of all internal Manager/Supervisor trainings
Completes E-Verify submissions for I-9 verifications
Completes verifications of employment for state agencies and creditors
Completes medical support orders for various states
Prepares unemployment paperwork and processes Maryland/Indiana/New York/New Jersey unemployment through database
Prepares/handles all FMLA/ADA/STD/LTD claims
Conducts employee exit interviews
Tracks all compliance/law updates, recommends updates to current policies if necessary
Handles weekly 401(k) Funding
Handles weekly and quarterly HSA funding
Audits insurance invoices
Handles planning and executing of Wellness events throughout the year
Handles submission of annual EEOC and ACA reporting
Assists during annual open enrollment as necessary
Conducts annual I-9 audits
Maintains and scans items in employee personnel files within the electronic filing system
Creates new and replacement badges for employees
Administrates HRIS data base and other human resource related programs, (i.e., ADP, Kronos, Keyscan, e-verify (DHS) and FileHold).
Develops and monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary
Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars
Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department
Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations
Maintains current and complete understanding of compliance of all federal, state and local laws including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, FLSA and EEO regulations
Ensures self-development through education, training, networking and experience
Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures.
All other duties/projects as assigned
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of experience in an HR position required, experience in manufacturing preferred
Associate's Degree in human resources or business administration preferred
PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP Certification in human resources is a plus but not required
General knowledge of federal, state and local governmental laws and regulations affecting human resources
