Contracts Specialist/ Legal Representative responsible for providing support to HEPI's sales, operational and corporate functions as it relates to legal, contractual and commercial risk.The role will involve working in a busy, global mining services company with team members across the globe, to review and establish contracts, master service agreements and terms and conditions for all sales and purchases, using best practice HEPI standards and policies.

This role will additionally be involved in various company legal matters, including but not limited to, intellectual property, governance, litigation, and lease review.
As the position directly reports to the VP of Legal and Commercial, based in Australia, some meetings can be expected outside of traditional business hours.Travel within the Americas would be required 1-3 times per year.
The position will need to demonstrate a high level of initiative and autonomy in everyday work, be willing to prioritise and deal with multiple stakeholders within the business, who will be located in the USA, Canada, Chile, Peru and Australia.
Responsibilities:
Safety ? conduct all activities in a safe manner, adhering to HEPI policy. Safety is # 1.
Minimise HEPI?s legal, contractual and commercial risk by following HEPI?s company contracting policy and risk management matrix.
Review terms and conditions of tenders, sales and purchases to be in line with HEPI?s contracting policy, purchasing, sales and operational strategy and risk profile.
Negotiate with customers and suppliers on terms where necessary and with guidance.
First level point of contact on contractual and legal matters within the Americas, ensuring processes are adhered to in order to limit overall company liability.
Liaise closely with the Australian based VP ? Legal & Commercial, to roll out and maintain Global Contracting Strategy as directed, and co-ordinate legal matters as they arise.
Perform a key role in the co-ordination and review of various additional legal matters including NDA?s, leases, intellectual property, governance and litigation.
Continued education of sales and purchase staff, throughout the Americas in order to ensure compliance with contract review process.
Contract administration and maintenance of central contracts reporting and storage.
Remain up to date on all compliance matters which may affect HEPI.
Obtain and manage legal advice as matters arise.
Additional related duties as assigned.

Skills:
Minimum 3 years experience as a Contracts Specialist/Para-legal in a related industry.
Education:
Bachelors
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
Bilingual in English and Spanish; written and verbal.
Paralegal certification, or Bachelors Degree in Law, Commerce, or related discipline.
Proficiency in Microsoft office suite (outlook, word, excel, powerpoint).
This position will be required to discuss work related choices with the VP Legal and Commercial, CEO or delegate regarding decisions that will directly impact the organization.
