This is a temp-to-permanent position. Dependable and hard-working employees will have the opportunity to be converted to permanent status earlier. Medical, dental, and vision benefits are offered once workers are hired on. Extra pay is available for employees willing to work during the holidays.
Available Shifts:
Day Shift: 8 am to 8 pm (2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on and 3 off)
Night Shift: 8 pm to 8 am (2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on and 3 off)
Pay: $18.30-$19.80/hr
The Line Operator serves as the front line of the production operation as they begin to learn and assume responsibility for the basic operations of the extrusion lines while expanding their knowledge to gain a general understanding of the extrusion process. A Line Operator must be knowledgeable in and follow all procedures needed to ensure the proper safe and efficient operation of their production line.
Responsibilities:
-Performs basic production duties such as loading cores on to the core table; preparing the finished product by pulling, lifting, labeling and packaging the finished stretch film rolls, cuts and accurately weighs and reports scrap, begins training on pulling trim and threading lines
-Learns how to inspect the visual quality of the rolls, removing rolls that don?t meet established quality standards, gains understanding of roll weight and accurately weighing rolls and/or boxes of finished product
-Trains on and gains knowledge of safely and effectively operating manual and electric pallet jacks to move completed skids
-Prepares product for shipping by setting up the skids with required packaging materials, packing trays or boxes with finished rolls
-Begins training on the functions of the quality control paperwork and learning to complete quality control paperwork accurately
-Assists with ensuring line operates continuously
-Maintain housekeeping on the line to ensure clean work environment; ensure work area is prepared and ready for shift change
-Performing any other duties as requested or assigned by Management
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Skills:
-Technical aptitude to understand machinery and systems within a production environment
-Mechanical aptitude to understand and properly utilize basic hand tools with accuracy
-Ability to understand and properly utilize scales, weights, and other measurement tools with accuracy
-Ability to demonstrate sound judgement while adapting to fast-paced environment and rapid changes
-Able to juggle multiple tasks and handle unexpected delays or events while maintaining constant attention to detail
-Strong organizational skills combined with good problem-solving skills
