Oversees the approval and declines of consumer loan applications. Responsible for organizing, planning, and directing the company's consumer loan functions to maximize profits and growth. This position establishes and implements departmental lending policies and operational procedures consistent with overall company management policies. Reports to Chief Operations Officer.Responsibilities:- Staff, train, motivate, supervise and manage Consumer Loan Officers.- Collaborate with Branch Management to develop consistent training and development for all Member Services Representatives.- Develop, plan and implement consumer lending goals, programs and procedures to improve productivity.- Determine proactive solutions to lending issues and problems. - Pursue business networking opportunities within community.- Work with marketing personnel on loan promotions.- Work proactively and positively with other Loan Department personnel to ensure a ?team effort? and prompt member service.- Work with Collections Department with regards to delinquent loans.- Work effectively with all other Credit Union personnel to ensure that the Consumer Lending teams function appropriately in relation to other departments. - Follow all established lending procedures as explained and trained; learn, recommend and implement loan procedures as necessary and applicable.- Perform all tasks and projects required by Chief Operations Officer and Consumer Lending needs.- Maintain ongoing communication with Chief Operations Officer and Senior Management Team, informing them of potential problems, new developments or changes in the lending environment.- Underwrites direct and indirect consumer loans, which meet established lending requirements and provide maximum profitability to the company with a minimum of risk. Approve, decline, or counter offer loan applications within set lending authority. Ensures - compliance with company standards and practices and State and Federal regulations.- Address all Member loan issues as soon as possible; handle Member complaints, and take appropriate action to resolve them.- Manage Employee loan requests ? complete them, or delegate them to assigned Branch Manager.- Periodically review consumer loan agreements to ensure that they comply with Credit Union policy and Federal regulations.- Stay abreast of all current and upcoming compliance and regulatory laws.- Plan and lead routine Consumer Lending meetings.- Self-monitor to ensure timeliness and accuracy of work.- Follow all Credit Union, Montana and Federal information privacy guidelines.- Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and financial lending metrics.Working hours: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PMSkills:- Personal and professional honesty, integrity, and respect for all co-workers and Members.- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.- Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and over the phone, with Supervisor, President / CEO, Members, Volunteers, Co-workers, and Senior Management Team.- Strong analytical and organizational skills.- Ability and willingness to work both independently and as part of an established team.- Willingness to learn on the job and improve consumer lending-related skills.- Ability to prioritize work and juggle multiple simultaneous projects.- Ability and willingness to work with a variety of office equipment and software systems.Education:AssociateExperience:1-4 yearsQualifications:- Associates or Bachelor's Degree in finance or banking preferred but not required.- Eight to ten years of professional experience in consumer lending required.- 3-5 years professional experience in banking or credit union environment preferred but not required.- 2-3 years professional management experience required.
