- Receive direction from supervisor, co-workers and work from job instructions, bar lists, etc.
- Follow procedures and safety rules.
- Operate various machinery such as MEP Planet 20 & 25, threader, band saw, etc. within established procedures & guidelines. Use touch screen, and manually handle rebar in loading and unloading.
- Run machine to complete job order including adjustments/modifications to the program as needed.
- Utilize safe work habits when operating plant equipment and machinery and maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion to prevent injury to self and/or others.
- On occasion, work with others to position and remove steel bars. Stack bars in a near and orderly fashion to prevent injury and to facilitate bundling and removal.
- Bundle finished bars, attach bar tag(s), and signal crane operator or assist in transfer of finished bundled material to designated storage areas or trailer in accordance with schedules.
- Participate in cross-training opportunities to learn operation of pendant crane, forklift, automatic bending machine, shear and other plant equipment and operations as necessary.
- Detect and report defective material, improper operation, and unusual conditions to proper supervision.
- Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- On job real time training will be provided on site.
- Complete other miscellaneous duties as needed/requested

Physical demands:
- While performing duties of job, employee is required to stand, bend, crawl, walk, climb for extended period of time; occasionally required to sit. Extended use of hands to operate objects, tools or heavy equipment or machinery; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Working hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Various Shifts Available)

Skills:
Machine Operator of 1 year+

Education:
High School

Experience:
1-4 years

Qualifications:
- Heavy lifting required and experience in related field helpful.
- Must be flexible relative to work schedule including possible mandatory overtime.
- Have reliable transportation
- Excellent math skills with clear understanding of how to add, subtract, divide, and multiply lengths, quantities in feet and inches, and read a tape measure.
- Dependable & punctual.
- Must pass a drug test and criminal background screen.
