Responsibilities??? Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment??? Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers, following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and voltage tester??? Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints, using hand tools and test equipment??? Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools??? Tests malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment, and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, such as machine repairer, maintenance and tool maker, maintenance, to diagnose malfunction??? Replaces faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices, using hand tools??? Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards, using electronic test equipment and hand tools??? Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors??? Performs routine preventative maintenance on machines as scheduled and required for TPM??? Works individually and as a team to develop and implement quality and efficiency improvements??? Conducts tests and inspections of products, or processes to evaluate quality or performance; examines products or work to verify conformance to specifications??? Qualifications??? High school diploma or general education degree (GED); with a combination of over four years of directly related training and/or experience??? Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, proportions and decimals??? Ability and understanding of various measuring devices in meeting drawing dimensions and specifications??? Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders, work instructions, diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals??? Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary??? Work requires continual attention to detail in follow through, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines??? Certifications / Training: May require UT State Electrician License and forklift/scissor lift/boom lift certification as required
