The position of EHS Assistant will coordinate and support crucial aspects of health and safety, quality and food safety, GMPs, facility training program, and overall continuous improvement. Has the shared responsibility of ensuring systems at the plant are properly implemented, ensuring compliance and personnel safety, quality and food safety, and GMPs. The EHS Assistant will be required to drive results by guiding implementation of company and site specific programs that support safety, quality, food safety, and training programs and identify opportunities to continuously improve performance.

Responsibilities:
1. Assists with the implementation of safety, quality and facility policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
Manages the RIM program including sending notifications of all forms, Work Instructions, and SOPs for the facility for review and updates(
2. Assists in coordinating efforts to train employees in work site safety, quality and operational practices. Lead/subject matter expert on POKA projects. Trains and coaches employees regarding various topics and enters into appropriate databases. Coordinates communication of safety programs.
3. Administers QA, Food Safety, Safety, and any compliance trainings using the Alchemy system or other supporting training material. Maintains the database of completions and follows up with employees needing to complete their trainings
4. Assists in the incident investigation process. Enters Safety Incidents Information in Incident Reporting system in a timely manner.
5. Performs daily transactional duties such as filing, data entry and collects information and prepare weekly, monthly and yearly required reports for EHS & QA.
Assists in the organization of Quality and Food Safety files and documentations and meeting minutes for safety committee meetings and QA department and supervisor meetings.
Tracks Safety, QA, and Sanitation Work Orders.
6.Oversees Monthly Plant Inspections, Distribute Work Orders and Maintains the facilities Corrective Action Report Log.
7. Establishes and sustains relationships with all employees in order to foster an environment where concerns regarding near misses, safety, quality, and food safety can be brought up without fear of reprisal.
8. Assists in updating and maintaining litigated workers compensation files, compliance audits and OSHA logs.
9. Responsible for following all Food Safety policies, procedures and regulatory criterion including the current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices, and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and associated Preventive Controls.
10. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma, secondary education level OR equivalent experience
- Minimum of two years of related work experience
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Proficient reading, writing, grammar, organizational, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; proficient PC skills, including Internet, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Teams, etc.); demonstrated coaching skills; visual and auditory skills.
- Valid driver's license is required for this position
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, climb, and lift items weighing 50 lbs.
- Experience: A minimum of two (2) years? experience in a related position
