A successful Mechanical Engineer has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (M.S.M.E. preferred) or equivalent engineering education, and at least five years of directly related experience. They have a solid knowledge of Auto Cad or Pro/Engineer CAD and are able to prepare preliminary and detailed design drawings. They have good mechanical, analytical, technical and administrative skills. The Mechanical Designer is able to prepare design sketches, layouts, and schematics as part of a design team, select raw materials and components, and develop cost estimates based on specs. They're able to perform stress tests, analyzes data, prepares reports, and makes comparisons with similar proven designs.
Responsibilities:
Prepares design sketches, layouts, and schematics as part of a design team.
Selects raw materials and components; develops specs for product.
Develops cost estimates based on specs.
Performs stress tests, analyzes data, prepares reports, and makes comparisons with similar proven designs.
Prepares preliminary and detailed design drawings using the Auto Cad or Pro/Engineer CAD package and directs the work of designers, drafters, and technicians as required.
Is responsible for technical staffing, work assignments, scheduling, personnel appraisals, and work reviews.
Develops and monitors control systems.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:15 PM
