Spherion is actively recruiting for a Medical Billing Assistant for a client of ours located in Fall River, Ma!
Schedule: 9am-5pm Monday through Friday - 35 hours per week
Pay rate: $20.00
Complete EDI transactions including submissions (837) confirmation of statues (999) and upload of electronic payments (835) after confirming deposit in accounting/billing shared folder.
Determine Medicaid eligibility: Check insurance information against client information in computer. Notify appropriate staff when eligibility status or third party information changes.
Assist with basic billing functions, e.g., running reports in Carelogic and identifying checks not completed and credit balances.
Order department supplies/forms semi-monthly.
Copy and file various documents, including pending claim, and insurance updates.
Scan, label, and file documents in shared folder.
Make copies and photocopy assorted information as requested.
Complete commercial secondary billing on-line. Resubmit VA billing on HCFA insurance forms with correct information required by Veterans Administration only.
Respond to reasonable expectations of the Agency and/or supervisor.
Serve as backup for other department functions as necessary.
Complete assigned tasks daily per Billing Calendar / Follow up Calendar.
Working hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Attention to detail
Excellent customer service skills
Minimum of High School Diploma is required.
Strong computer skills required
Experience with billing and/or electronic medical records preferred.
