As member of the management team the Operations Manager is responsible to co-shape and develop a multiple year business plan for the site. Based on the overall strategy the manager will ensure an effective translation into an operational strategy, which is to be detailed in year plans and targets for operations. Leading by example means this person will be a role model and guardian of company values as set out in the mission and vision of the company. As leader of operations function the operations manager will continuously optimize, develop and lead the site organization.

Responsibilities:
The Operations Manager is responsible for:
Team translate and implement the mission/vision and strategic plan for operations into year plans and targets for the local site
Lead the operations function
Supervise the continuity and quality of all operational processes including logistics
Represent the company towards suppliers
Continuously develop and optimize the assigned operations organization
Realize agreed year plans including the incorporated efficiency targets
Initiate and maintain a continuous improvement culture
Hands on support within operations to ensure continuity where needed
The scope of the function includes regular night and week-end supervising and interventions to prevent breakdown in processes and production in case of technical alarms.
Implement year plans including agreed staffing changes, implementation and enforcement of working procedures and safety instructions
Stop the production in case of quality/safety issues
Authorized to start and stop production process as necessary
Make corrections in the process??? when deviations are found
Represent the company towards suppliers
Replace Business Unit Manager on request
Authorized to bind company within agreed budgets and proxies
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Previous or current experience within an international environment
Education:
Completed education in the area of food science with a Bachelor degree or similar relevant experience.

Extensive experience in food manufacturing
Managing and leading teams in a production environment
Experienced champion of continuous improvement within a production environment
Good knowledge of quality management systems and (food) safety principles
Knowledge of continuous improvement principles and data driven decisions
Knowledge of ERP systems and automation of working processes
Good technological knowledge of fermentation processes and equipment
Articulate with excellent verbal and writing skills in English.
