A Clare County automotive manufacturer is seeking a 3rd shift Machine Maintenance Technician to join their team! Hours are 9:00pm-7:00am Monday-Thursday with overtime as needed on Fridays based on the work load. Training will take place for a few weeks on a 1st shift before moving to a 3rd shift. Starting compensation is $20-24/hr based on experience. Competitive benefits are available. Employee should have experience working with machine maintenance, both as needed and preventative/ scheduled. A working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, mechanical, and blueprints is needed.

Responsibilities:
- Solves minor problems and troubleshoots concerns on a daily basis.
- Assures that work performed conforms with quality standards and specifications.
- Recommends improvements, modifications and ideas for continuous improvement.
- Set-up and operate machinery to machine parts safely and efficiently to specifications.
- Develops safe working habits and works in a safe manner.
- Becomes familiar with all company safety rules, regulations, and guidelines and practices them at all times.
- Communicates effectively and professionally with visitors, vendors, customers, Management and co-workers, correctly fills out and maintains records, logs and other forms and/or reports as required.
- Properly perform mechanical changes and adjustments to machinery and equipment using hand tools including; wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
- Execute other responsibilities and projects as necessary/ assigned.
- Responsible for area's Housekeeping and Maintaining a clean safe work environment including leaving the area clean and organized at the end of shift.
- Maintain fork trucks and perform preventative maintenance.
- Perform outside duties such as snow removal and landscape improvements.
- Document Preventive Maintenance plans.
- Complete assigned projects as directed.
- Maintain supply crib and spare parts.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Manager, or as required and necessary in keeping with the efficient operation of the Company's business.
Skills:
- Basic understanding of power transmissions and components like bearings, pulleys, belts, chains, gears and couplings. (Including proper installations, lubrication and care of these components.)
Qualifications:
- Must have an excellent understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity, mechanics, steel/metal fabrication.
- Must have operational knowledge of all equipment and machinery including precision measuring instruments and gages.
- Must have practical knowledge and application of fractions, decimals, measurements, math and blueprint reading.
- Must be able to properly perform mechanical changes and adjustments to machinery and equipment using hand tools including; wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
- Must be able to properly use portable power tools such as drill motors, circular saws, grinders, etc.
