A Paint Line Lead serves as working leader to members on the Powder Paint Line. Machine set-up and equipment operation is required, along with troubleshooting, small repairs, and some maintenance of the equipment on the Paint Line. As a Lead you support a safe and effective operation, identify improvements, training team members, and work with management to solve workflow issues.

RESPONSIBILIITES:
- Support productivity objectives.
- Maintain attendance records and approve PTO.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Communicate with managers, engineers, technicians
- Spot check work to ensure it meets quality standards.
- Ensure proper PPE is available for employees and they are trained on proper use of equipment and safety policies.
- Provide performance feedback to team member and keep area manager advised of team member performance
- Resolve schedule problems throughout the day by closely coordinating with necessary departments and assist Production Manager in planning OT hours
- Assign work to team members and prioritize workload and equipment schedule to meet demands.
- Maintain accurate inventory control
- Continuous improvement efforts
- Order management.
- Escalate and provide solutions when points of failure are recognized in the flow of production
- Assist with training new associates and cross-training others as needed to ensure back-ups are available and ready when needed.
- Use scheduling techniques to achieve increased flexibility, floor space and turnaround time by reducing work-in-process inventory and overall lead times.
- Fill in as needed for any absence in the area.
- Machine set-up and equipment operation.
- Troubleshoot, perform small repairs and some maintenance of machines and processes.
MUST HAVES
- High mechanical ability and aptitude
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Previous forklift experience or the ability to obtain a forklift license
- Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, or equivalent
NICE TO HAVES:
- Powder Paint experience
- Able to evaluate department goals and results being achieved
- Able to understand and perform critical inventory control functions
