POSITION OVERVIEW:Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports within a manufacturing industry.Responsibilities:Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position. Audits contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.Installs, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.Devises and implements system for general accounting. Makes recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.Conducts studies and submits recommendations for improving the organization's accounting operation and plant operationsCollects appropriate data and prepares federal, state, and local reports and tax returns. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of accounting processes. Other duties may include administrative portions of EHS, Quality, Engineering and Production as assigned. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries to accounts documenting business transactionsPrepares GL Account and Bank ReconciliationPrepares financial statements and other reports to summarize the company's financial positionMaintains Accounting Policy databaseIdentifies control gaps, develops and implements appropriate control procedures to resolve control deficienciesAssists in preparation for internal and external auditsOversees payroll and AP functionsDirect supervisor of Accounting clerksPerforms other job-related duties as required or assignedWorking hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMSkills:--Problem solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approach--Ability to work independently or with a team--Must be able to look at new solutions and "think outside the box"Education:BachelorsExperience:4-7 yearsQualifications:In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree or equivalent; five (5) to eight (8) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing environment.Sspreadsheet and word-processing computer skills, including proven expertise in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of AS 400 preferred.Effective communication skills, listening skills, attention to details, and ability to organize and retrieve information. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment analyzing data, forecasting financial projections and recommending changes in plant operations to meet budgetary goals. Supervisory experience.
