- Plans, coordinates, and directs programs for research, product development, and improvement of
manufacturing processes.
- Coordinates research and analysis activities pertaining to materials, manufacturing processes, or other

considerations, and approves modification of formulas, standards, specifications, and processes.
- Calls on customer representatives such as engineers or other professional and technical personnel at
commercial, industrial, and other establishments to provide technical support pertaining to products and
services offered.
- Advises management, technical personnel, and representatives of other departments of activities.
- Prepares reports and technical papers.
- Prepares and administers department budget.
- Ensures compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 Testing Laboratory requirements.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for supervising the Material Development Chemist and the Laboratory Manager.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree: Science or Chemical Engineering
Advanced degree desirable
5-10 years overall elastomer formulation experience
5-10 years direct manufacturing support
5-10 years supervisory experience
Experience with rubber mixing & processing equipment (Banbury, mill, extruder, etc.)
Experience with a variety of manufacturing techniques (compression, transfer, injection, etc.)
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
