Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Plan, install, design, build and/or maintain new equipment to enable production to manufacture a quality product at optimum cost.
Troubleshoot manufacturing processes and prepare quality corrective actions.
Recommend new technologies for use in projects based on cost, safety, efficiency, and other considerations.
Suggest and/or implement engineering change orders and initiate and coordinate projects.
Select, procure and install (or build, when required) all equipment, machinery and tools for work areas, special jigs, fixtures, material handling devices, etc.
Establish the method used for producing the entire plant product line.
Prepare weekly reports on standards, plant and departmental efficiency and utilization, maintenance activities and engineering projects.
Coordinate AFEs (Authorization for Expenditure).
Monitor work of engineering staff to ensure they are adhering to plans and specifications.
Provide technical guidance to the quality control and production regarding manufacturing-related issues.
Provide technical guidance to personnel with regard to OSHA compliance.
Supervise employees, including hire, attendance, productivity, performance evaluation, coaching, discipline and discharge activities (with concurrence of the Focus Factory Manager, Plant Manager, Plant Human Resources Manager) and salary planning.
Maintain internal contacts with all staff members, production supervisors, hourly maintenance and production employees.
Maintain external contacts to evaluate equipment, tools, or vendors for major expense projects.
Occasional travel is required.
Working hours: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to provide technical guidance and training to staff.
Knowledge of OSHA compliance regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage and lead a team.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
At least five years of experience in engineering, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
Knowledge of production equipment and processes.
Knowledge of engineering principles, design techniques, and tools.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
