provide leadership, support, and guidance directly to all personnel to ensure food quality standards and compliance to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines are met. This is achieved by developing and enforcing quality and safety policies, training employees, validating processes, and providing documentation with the support of the warehouse and customer service managers. The Quality Assurance/Safety Coordinator reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities:
Maintains the Quality Management Policies and Procedures (QMPP) and documentation
Analyzes activities outlined in the QMPP for completion, efficacy, and efficiency and identifies opportunities for improvements.
Works with senior management on the development and revision of policies and procedures as they pertain to food quality and safety
Keeps up to date with relevant international, federal, state and local regulations
Ensure all current certification requirements are met as well as the addition and/or compliance of any new required certification
Ensures the food quality and safety procedurs outlined in the QMPP are communicated to all personnel through employee training (verbal and practical) which is designed to keep employees knowledgeable, informed, and in compliance with food quality and safety standards and procedures relevant to their job function
Reviews and approves internal monitoring activities to ensure food safety parameters are met; works with department managers and supervisors regarding non-satisfactory findings.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Organizational skills; ablility to manage priorities
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
PCQI and HACCP certification a plus
Ability to effectively communicate and respond to the concerns of managers, subordinates, and regulatory agencies
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
Strong communication, training, and interpersonal skills
Strong writing and criticial thinking skills
Experience in safety management or similar field
Knowledge and experience in process safety, fall protection and forklift safety.
Experience in warehousing, dairy or manufacturing preferred
Working knowledge of GMP, food safety regulations, and OHS guidelines preferred
Organizational skills; ablility to manage priorities
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
PCQI and HACCP certification a plus
Ability to effectively communicate and respond to the concerns of managers, subordinates, and regulatory agencies
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
