-Monitor the movement of rail freight for product shipments via the leased fleet and fail line fleets, allocating cars by type and rail line-Responsible for communications with rail carriers to influence them to provide service that will ensure on time delivery of rail shipments-Monitor all loaded car movements on a daily basis. Investigate delayed cars, taking action with appropriate railroad personnel to ensure on time delivery to customers and forward stations-Provide comprehensive daily status report of exceptions to customer service, distribution and sales management staff-Serve as the intermediary for the railroad, the loading facility, distribution and customer service to ensure the customer's needs are met-Identify repetitive service issues. Communicate to the enterprise the identified problems and corrective action implemented-Act as a consultant to internal departments so they are educated on as to what steps their department may need to take to ensure deliveries are expedited.-Assess rail carrier performance and report recommendations to the Rail Operations Manager-Administer corrective action on service issues as needed-Manage the leased fleet to ensure efficient velocity. Issues report of projected car supply status to Distribution and Operations personnel-Coordinate repairs for the fleet assuring that repairs are made on a timely basis.-Responsible for issuing the monthly leased fleet report. This includes accountability to review the car usage information and payment approval recommendation to the leasing company-Investigate customer complaints regarding rail shipments. Provide resolution for complaints working with supervisor-File loss and damage with rail lines-File diversions and re-consignments with appropriate rail line. This includes daily monitoring the movement of the car, and taking appropriate action and maintaining reporting information until the car has reached its destination-Responsible for investigating and resolving rail billing issues and errors
