The Inside Sales Rep is responsible for preparing custom product sales quotes and interfacing with engineering, manufacturing, and outside sales representatives in the preparation of custom product quotes and clarifying technical requirements associated with the requested product.Sales involvements include direct sales, distribution, and manufacturers' representatives. Activities are focused on customer satisfaction, sales generation, and gross profit percentage attainment of business quoted. This position provides a liaison between the outside sales force and inside operations.The ideal candidate will have a 4 year degree in a related field and have at least 2 years of experience in an inside sales position.Responsibilities:Understand, develop, and grow sales by establishing high levels of customer confidence and positive customer relationshipsManage region and coach/support Sales Engineers in day-to-day responsibilities to meet or exceed sales planMonitor processes and provide reports on progress and achievement of business objectives, coach and develop sales plans, maintain pipelines, and other key initiativesDevelop annual sales plan for assigned territories to meet growth goals.Provide scheduled updates and monitor and ensure that all required actions are updated timelyResponsible for customer interaction and relationship management within own account base and as an escalation point for customers.Responsible for representing customer requests and perspectives to production and management personnel to plan and execute proper ?customer first? support.Generate new business inquiries, explore opportunities for Cutting Tool Sales and support RSM and SE staff?s development opportunities in this area.Tracks results of quotes and follows up as requiredCoordinates with Design and Process Engineering for quote generationPrepares and submits NPR?s (New Product Request) to engineering upon receipt of ordersSubmits sales orders to production control for custom productsCoordinates with marketing in the creation of new products into catalog.Ensuring outstanding NPR?s with Purchase Orders are tracked and closed out by working with engineering and the outside sales reps.Participate in tradeshows by attending to show participants coming to our booth inquiring on purchasing our standard and custom products.Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMSkills:Ability to create quotes using excel and SAP and following guidance regarding gross margin requirements when quoting.Ability to use ERP system (SAP or Visibility) in support of inside sales duties.Detailed level of understanding of MIT's product offering of solid carbide round tools.A general level of understanding of MIT's manufacturing scope of capabilities in producing product.Ability to sell product to MIT customers by presenting MIT product solutions aimed at fulfilling our customer's needs for cutting tools.Ability to follow-up on leads generated via marketing channels or at industry tradeshows where MIT is exhibiting products.Basic math skills with ability to convert American standard to metric.Education:BachelorsExperience:1-4 yearsQualifications:(4) Year-College Degree or a combination of experience and educationMust pass criminal background check and drug test.
