Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe work environment for self and others. Follows all safety rules and regulations. Demonstrate commitment to safety program
- Responsible for training employees in safety both during orientation and on an ongoing basis as necessary or required by law
- Coordinates the Workers Compensation Program with employees, supervisors and insurance company to assure proper benefits and reduction of workplace injuries
- Responsible to maintain the OSHA Log
- Conduct OSHA required and other safety related training according to AWAIR Plan
- Keeps abreast of current regulations, standards, codes, safety products, methods and practices related to safety and the industry
- Keep current in the area of human resource and safety practices as they relate to the manufacturing industry; and ensure that actions are in compliance with applicable laws
- Responsible for investigating and reporting accidents and incidents in a timely manner, and maintaining worker's compensation files
- Orders safety supplies (i.e. anti-vibration gloves, wrist supports, wrist rests, etc.)
- Creates and/or maintains environmental policies and procedures and ensures timely and accurate reporting as required per regulations
- Conduct Job Hazard Analysis for new and changing processes, which may include working in conjunction with the Lean area, manufacturing and management groups (i.e. ergonomics, etc.)
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office
- Hands-on, directive personality to ensure safety tasks are completed
- Self-starter
Education:
Associate
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
- On-year certificate from college or technical school
- 1 to 3 years of related experience and/or training
- Ability to bend, twist, walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to work work with multiple teams
Training:
- 30-hour OSHA certification training completed
- HRIS experience
- Ability to reference OJT
Schedule:
Mon - Fri 8am - 5pm. OT as needed
