Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the Senior Employment Associate:
Manage all aspects of clients matters
Design policies, procedures, and strategies
Provide sound and practical employment law advice
Draft letters, agreements, employee handbooks, pleadings, briefs, motions, orders, judgments, and status updates
Negotiate and mediate resolutions to disputes
Conduct legal research
Oversee and analyze discovery
Write legal briefs
Argue motions in court
Prepare for and attend hearings and trial
Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients and serve as the principal contact between the Firm and its clients
Prospect for new clients through marketing, networking, writing articles, and speaking engagements
Meet or exceed 1440 annual billable hour requirement
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Must be an active member of the New Jersey Bar (and New York Bar preferred)
Portable business is a plus
Education:
No Degree Required
Experience:
7-10 years
Qualifications:
Requirements of the Senior Employment Associate:
7+ years of experience handling Employment Law matters
Must have experience skillfully managing employment law matters in New Jersey (and New York preferred) for both employers and employees, including counseling, negotiating, mediating, and litigating
Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (reasonable accommodations will be provided to those who qualify for an exemption to vaccination)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and Excel required
Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and ethical
Must have a solid ability to work both independently and with a team in the office as well as remotely, as necessary
Must be able to demonstrate a strong work ethic with high standards for quality of work and integrity
Must be compassionate, personable, and professional when interacting with clients, colleagues, and co-workers
Must be willing to adapt to technology and new ways of working
