You will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process by performing setting preparations on racks, platforms, kiln cars, and conducting removal operations after firing. Responsibilities:
Setter/Drawer II performs setting preparations on racks, platforms, kiln cars, and removal operations after firing. A Setter/Drawer II plans and builds car configurations and stacks products in specified patterns on racks, platforms, or tunnel kiln cars to prepare for loading into periodic or tunnel kilns, ovens, and/or furnaces for burning. After burning, they remove the product from the kiln, ovens, or furnaces, examine for defects, transfer products to pallets, and identify with the proper shop orders. May work independently or in teams.
Working hours: 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM
Skills:
- Frequently handle and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to push, pull, reach, walk, stand, kneel, bend, and work for sustained periods of time.
- Conduct visual inspection for defects such as cracks, chips and distortions.
- High temperatures, sand and grease are frequently encountered.
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a high school degree or equivalent work experience is required with above-average math skills.
- Training time is usually up to 3 months to be proficient in all phases of the job to work independently.
- Requires Fork/Hand Truck Operating License.
- Demonstrated abilities with standard measurements and computer familiarity requirements.
