This position reports directly to the Quality Control Manager and is a highly valued role driving our continued growth and success. This role is responsible for checking the quality of all incoming and outgoing parts, 1st article, in-process and final work, assembly and production products as well as production procedures.
You will be a firm advocate of quality at this facility. The ideal candidate will
possess a trained eye for detail, and consistency, and will be reliable and committed. In-depth knowledge and comprehension of quality standards are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Read blueprints and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations.
- Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance.
- Inspect all parts and assemblies to ensure quality and accuracy (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications, etc.)
- Use various micrometers, calipers, and gauges to measure to inspect parts.
- Maintain records of testing, information and various metrics such as number of defective parts, assemblies, RMAs, etc.
- Inspect procedures of the entire production cycle to ensure they are efficient and comply with safety standards.
- Prepare and submit reports to the QC Manager
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Skills:
- Proficiency with measuring and inspection equipment, calipers, verniers, micrometers, etc.
- Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and JobBOSS
- Basic math and analytical skills and can demonstrate good written and verbal communication.
- Willingness to learn and be part of a growing, high-functioning team.
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a quality inspector or relevant role within a sheet metal shop (at least 3 years)
- High school degree or equivalent
- A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
- Responsible and trustworthy
- Familiarity with quality testing machines and systems
- Work with engineering and production to address and resolve quality issues
- Proficient in precision sheet metal fabrication methods
- Good organizational and time management skills
