solidworks mechanical designer detailer.

A Mechanical Designer with experience designing custom conveyors, platforms, catwalks, machines, safety guarding, and other items for various industries with a focus on sanitary solutions for the industrial food processing industry. They should have a working knowledge of plasma/laser processing, CNC milling, turning, sheet metal forming and welding. The candidate will be expected to prepare CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks. As well as generating CAD files required for laser and plasma processing. Candidate will need to be able to reverse engineer third-party conveyors and other equipment to replicate or modify as needed. Candidate will also be expected to travel locally to customer facilities to gather design requirements and verify plant layout and dimensions.

Responsibilities:
Transfers information off project notes, contract documents/governing codes and drafts parts and assemblies into a shop drawing format.
Make changes to shop drawings and follow through with the changes completely.

Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Qualifications:
Knowledgeable in Solid works functions including 3D sketches, weldments, multi body parts and assemblies
Proficient at reading and understanding blueprints and specifications.
Knowledgeable in OSHA Codes.
Familiar with standard steel shapes and sizes.
Must be neat, punctual, dependable, have attention to details, follow instructions, work under pressure, organized, able to multi-task and willing to learn.
Able to make changes to shop drawings and follow through with the changes completely.
Able to pass a drug/alcohol screen.


Day Shift: M-F, 40 hours per week
Hourly Wage: $28-$31/HR, depending on experience.
