We are seeking a Sales Tax & Payroll Specialist for the administration of sales and use taxes, fixed assets, and monthly & year-end close. In addition, this role is responsible for payroll processing and is a resource for various HR projects.

Sales & Use tax accounting responsibilities including being the subject matter expert in this area, managing state registrations, reconciling and approving required reporting, managing software structure including the appropriate contract level, and managing certificate capture.
Fixed asset accounting and administration responsibilities including managing fixed asset records, coordinating with outside tax accountants, and GL posting depreciation.
Monthly close and Year End responsibilities including preparation of various reports relating to inventory turns, whole goods, WIP, account receivable, and benchmarking; preparing various documents for submission such as financial analysis, 1099, personal property tax returns; and updating profit and loss statements, and cost allocation models.
Manage the payroll process in its entirety to include entry and termination of employees into the payroll system, pay changes, garnishments, vacation & sick time discrepancies, benefits arrears balances, bonuses, commissions, direct deposit changes, and act as the point person for the relationship with the payroll system vendor. Audit before running payroll bi-weekly.
Perform various HR projects as needed, including acting as back up for employee
orientation, and employee onboarding assistance.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, the internet, and accounting software.

Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
At least three (3) years of related experience preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
