As a Public Works Streets Maintenance Worker, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the infrastructure of our community's streets and roadways. This is a 6-month contract role.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, repairing, and painting public buildings and facilities.
Maintain and repair streets, sidewalks, curbs, and gutters.
Repair and maintain storm drainage systems.
Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs.
Maintain parks, recreational areas, and public green spaces by mowing, trimming, planting, and watering.
Remove litter and debris from public areas.
Operate and maintain various types of equipment and vehicles, such as trucks, tractors, mowers, and hand tools.
Safely handle and transport materials, including gravel, asphalt, and construction supplies.
Assist in construction and repair projects, including road resurfacing, bridge repairs, and facility renovations.
Follow blueprints, plans, and specifications to complete tasks.
Set up and maintain traffic control devices and signs during roadwork and construction projects.
Ensure the safety of the public and work crew by adhering to traffic safety guidelines.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Various Shifts Available)
Skills:
Previous experience in public works, construction, or related fields is preferred.
Knowledge of basic construction, maintenance, and repair techniques.
Ability to operate and maintain various tools and equipment safely.
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
Valid driver's license
Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
