Spherion is recruiting for a Subrogation Associate to join the team of one of the largest healthcare providers in southern Wisconsin! This position will provide direct support to the subrogation staff with research for accident, illness, and responsible party information, and the creation of subrogation files. The Subrogation Specialist will place telephone calls to attorneys, insureds, and insurance carriers to verify information related to pending cases. This position will be responsible for reviewing the claims system for processing of accident-related claims and will provide customer service to internal and external customers regarding the subrogation process.
Responsibilities:
- Researches and creates paper and electronic subrogation files for the department
- Places and receives telephone calls to attorneys, insureds, and insurance carriers to obtain third-party liability or case status information
- Files documents and retrievals, organizes, and distributes incoming mail
- Reviews claims system for approval or denial of coverage for claims related to accident and illness
- Conducts projects and participates in department activities to identify problems and improve processes
- Performs other duties as assigned
Working hours: 7:30 AM - 5:15 PM
Skills:
- Previous experience in medical insurance or medical billing preferred
Education:
High School
Experience:
0-1 years
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Professional written and oral communication skills
- Dedication to providing excellent customer service
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
- Frequent keyboard use/data entry
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and gripping
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs
- Rare climbing
