The Technical Writer is a skilled professional level position that focuses on the development of customer
technical publications that bridge the gap between product usability and the customer. This
includes providing customers with accurate and usable documentation so that they can install,

provision, and maintain products successfully; reducing the amount of live customer support
required for customers to install, provision, and maintain products; providing safety information
and establishing product regulatory compliance; helping to promote and maintain corporate
identity.
Responsibilities:
Develop new and revised customer facing technical publications
Work as a member of a writing team
Employee must be able to follow established protocols for documentation development, writing styles, content architecture
Gather technical publication content through research, investigation and discovery, hands on experience, and training
Develop and architect content by working with engineering teams and other stakeholders and customers
Use internal corporate databases, inventory management tools, and archival storage systems for research and development
Interpret engineering drawings and develop graphic requirements
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Familiarity with telecommunications concepts, practices, and procedures a plus.
Previous experience with Adobe FrameMaker products a plus.
Certifications a plus.
Advanced degree a plus.
Education:
Bachelors
Experience:
4-7 years
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Technical Writing, Technical Communications, English,
Journalism, Communications, Information Architecture, Computer Science, or Engineering
required.
Command of written and verbal English, strong communication skills.
Aptitude to understand technology. Able to show the potential for understanding technical
concepts and details at the solution, system, and component level.
Good people/customer skills (strong team interaction is required; interaction with engineering
design/build/test teams, product portfolio managers, systems teams, and colleagues on the
technical publications teams).
Project management and organizational skills
Must be able to work full time from a remote location, in a work from home environment.
Must be able to work in a global work environment and make some accommodation to work
with global time differences.
