Spherion is seeking a skilled Instrument Testing Technician for an exciting 3-6 month assignment, with excellent potential for extension based on your performance and our workload. Join a team focused on the assembly, calibration, and certification of state-of-the-art precision instruments! Previous experience with electrical, mechanical, electronic, or computer-related activities is desired OR possession of an Associate's Degree in a technical field.
Responsibilities:
- This role is centered on applying detailed technical knowledge to ensure instrument performance and certification readiness. You will be a crucial part of the process, ensuring every instrument meets the highest standards before delivery.
- Hands-On Precision: Perform intricate wiring, computer setup, assembly, and calibration for sophisticated instruments.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections and evaluations of incoming and outgoing components, ensuring top-tier quality.
- System Diagnostics: Utilize your troubleshooting skills to identify problem areas within complex systems and implement effective resolutions.
- Data & Certification: Evaluate instrument operation, interpret critical test results, and meticulously maintain technical databooks and records.
- Process Improvement: Take ownership of assigned test areas by contributing to quality system procedures, drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and driving process enhancements.
- Shipping & Logistics: Prepare spare parts and accessories with accuracy for outgoing shipments.
- Safety Champion: Actively promote safety and good housekeeping practices, ensuring a clean, organized, and compliant lab environment.
Skills:
- Associate's degree (or on the job experience equivalent) with experience with electrical, mechanical, electronic, or computer-related activities.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience with electrical, mechanical, electronic, or computer-related activities.
- Good dexterity skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent troubleshooting aptitude
- Self-starter
