The Utility Checker will be responsible for checking drawing???s accuracy and overall quality, based on engineering design, in-house drafting standards, manufacturing capabilities, customer specifications, as well as industry-specific codes and standards.

Check drawings for congruence with engineering design, in-house drafting standards, manufacturing capabilities, customer specifications, as well as industry-specific codes and standards.
Review customer-provided plans and discuss any discrepancies with the appropriate team member(s)
Follow the checking process and ensure corrections are made and provide guidance to drafters to help reduce errors in the future
Review areas of concern from the Drafting Department with engineering and drafting supervision to help develop new procedures and improvements for the department
Complete drawings on time per project requirements
Work closely with cross-functional team members
Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Ability to work overtime as required
Ability to work well with other team members
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
3 years minimum work experience as a Checker for transmission poles or other role with similar job requirements
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in industrial drafting
Proficient in AutoCAD or other computer-aided design software
Experience with Microsoft Office
Experience in detailing structural components
Knowledge of AWS weld symbols
Experience in drawing similar projects the fabricator or manufacturer provides
