There are a number of Welding positions with this company that require different levels of experience. The Welding process varies from utilizing MIG, TIG, ROBOTIC, and GAS applications. Welds commonly used metals and alloys of various shapes, sizes, thicknesses, etc. Selects welding electrodes for specific welds to ensure penetration and fusion of base and filler metals. The Welder welds metal components together to fabricate or repair products according to blueprints, layouts, or work orders. The Welder welds in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions. Entry level Welding: Works with close supervision and relies on both blueprints and fixtures to meet any cosmetic specs to any internal or external customer requirements. Required to fill out necessary paperwork
Advanced Level Welding: includes operating of two types of welding equipment and passing internal leak tests within testing capacity. These Welders should have the ability to setup and weld using fixtures and prints, capacity to understand weld symbols and required to weld a minimum of two types of material. Understand and use documentation of welding procedures and setup sheets.
Certified Level Welding: Will weld with a variety of equipment, MIG, TIG, or GAS. They may also be required to fabricate parts with no fixtures but have access to prints. Required to have the capacity to trouble shoot and operate complex fixtures and weld a large variety of materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, mild steel, galvanized and brass, etc. along with training of other welders.
What makes a good Welder?
A top performing Welder has adequate welding experience for which they are applying for whether it be an Entry Level Welder, Advanced Welder or Certified Welder. They are able to read blueprints and have the Capacity to understand weld symbols. The Welder able to perform math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and has knowledge of decimals, fractions, and metric/English conversions.
Responsibilities:
Mark-up incorrect drawings and bills of material, submit to engineering and plan for change.
Communicate with engineers and designers on problems regarding production tools. Fabricate components from blueprints and verbal instructions.
Perform assignments in accordance with written quality procedures.
Uses cutting torches, grinders, etc. and similar metal working equipment to complete welding projects.
Ensure compliance to safety rules and procedures.
Working hours: 5:00 AM - 3:15 PM
Skills:
Willing to participate in continuous improvement activities that result in reducing variation and waste in the manufacturing process. Using a specified training format, work closely in training new welders

Qualifications:
Able to read blueprints
Capacity to understand weld symbols
The Welder is required to be on their feet for up to twelve hours.
Able to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear around machinery.
Frequently required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch.
The Welder must be capable of lifting and moving up to 15lbs; frequently lift and move up to 50lbs.
Vision Requirements: Close, Distance, Color and peripheral vision. Depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus on optical devices.
Able to work near moving mechanical parts of machinery and electrically activated devices.
Able to perform math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Knowledge of decimals, fractions, and metric/English conversions
Able to lift and position parts into fixtures
Passing pre-employment drug examination
1ST SHIFT: 5AM-3:15PM OT may be required.
Pay Range $19-$22/hr depending on experience
