The Welder will help to lay-out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, forged, steel, aluminum and stainless steel components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels, structural and or piping components.

-Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, and rulers.
-Recognize, set up and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
-Bolts, clamps, and tack-weld parts to secure in the position for welding.
-Sets up equipment and weld parts (FCAW, SMAW, GTAW).
-Examine work pieces for defects and measure with straightedges to templates to ensure conformance with specification, recommended practices, and standards.
-Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases size of metal parts by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
-Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
-Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.

Qualifications:
-High school education or equivalent
-3-5 years related experience or training
-Shop skills include welding and blueprint reading
-Experience with structural and pipe fabrication.
