Local Veteran Takes Ownership of Coachella Valley and Temecula Offices

PALM DESERT, Calif. – Spherion Staffing and Recruiting (Spherion) announced today that the Coachella Valley and Temecula offices are now under the leadership of Jeff Gonzalez. Gonzalez took over ownership responsibilities from previous franchise owners Veronica and Richard Moyse on October 3.

“Veronica and I feel privileged to have been able to serve the Riverside and Temecula communities for the last 17 years,” said Richard. “We’re confident that Jeff will continue to provide exceptional support to both job seekers and businesses, and help connect good people with good jobs in the Palm Springs metro region to the Coachella Valley.”

A decorated veteran, Gonzalez served as a Marine for 21 years. During his time in the service, he went on four combat tours to Iraq and Afghanistan and also protected U.S. embassies in Prague and Honduras. After his retirement from the Marines, Gonzalez returned to the states where he became a pastor at Saddleback Church, and Southwest Church in Indian Wells, California. He then joined Redzone Security as the company’s director of business development. In that role, he was in charge of security and staffing for major events like the Coachella Music and Arts Festival and the Stagecoach Festival. Currently, Gonzalez sits on the board of several nonprofits throughout the community, including the Desert Community Foundation, The University of California San Bernardino Palm Desert Campus Advancement Board, the Noon Rotary Club of Indio and the Salvation Army Veterans Easy Access Program Advisory Committee.

“As a Marine veteran, a team-first mentality is ingrained in my DNA – I know how to bring people together to work towards a common goal,” said Gonzalez. “Plus, I’m extremely committed to community outreach and look forward to being able to leverage Spherion to help get people to work. Business ownership has always been a dream of mine, and I’m incredibly thankful for the opportunity to be able to meet my professional needs as well as the needs of my community.”

Gonzalez’s wife Christine and son Zack will join him in operating the business. Together, they look forward to servicing the staffing and recruiting needs of businesses and job seekers in the Palm Springs metro region.

“We’re incredibly lucky to have someone like Jeff join our franchisee community,” said Rebecca Rogers Tijerino, president of Spherion. “We know that he will dedicate himself and offer the same level of support to the Coachella Valley and Temecula communities that Veronica and Richard did before him.”

Spherion brandishes the “power of local” through a network of independent and empowered franchisees like Gonzalez. Each Spherion franchisee enriches their communities by connecting and facilitating employment opportunities every day—and when they’re successful together, their investments flow back into the neighborhoods where they live and work. The power of Spherion is in its local roots.
