2022 is brand new, but we can’t help but use this time to reflect on some of the incredible milestones we’ve hit as a brand in the past 12 months.

Despite the universal challenges of 2020, we knew 2021 was going to be a special year for us. This year marked our 75th anniversary as a brand, and we knew we had to go big! We started off the year with a massive rebranding, adopting the phrase “Let’s get to work” to rally the nation around the same purpose-driven ideal. Now that 2021 has come to a close, we’re proud to share that Spherion placed more than 225,000 people in jobs throughout the year!

Those successful job placements, in part, came from our franchise expansion in the last year. We also expanded our services to include professional staffing which includes IT and finance positions. This expansion earned Spherion recognition as a top staffing and recruiting agency from Forbes—Spherion ranked in the top 15% in two categories; America’s Best Professional Recruiting Firms and America’s Best Temporary Staffing Firms.

Forbes wasn’t the only organization that recognized Spherion for excellence in business operations. The American Staffing Association and the National Safety Council bestowed the Safety Standard of Excellence designation upon Spherion in recognition of our promotion of the safety and health of temporary employees placed on assignment with host employers. This program defines and measures firms like Spherion against staffing industry best practices while supporting compliance with federal and state occupational safety and health requirements.

Spherion's franchising accolades include membership in IFPG, a No. 10 ranking by FranchiseRankings.com for staffing franchises, and the American Staffing Association's Safety Standard of Excellence

Furthermore, FranchisingRankings.com consistently placed Spherion in its Top 10 Business Services franchise rankings in 2021 while Everest Group labeled Spherion a Major Contender in the U.S. contingent workforce (staffing) provider landscape. This honor is based on Spherion’s vision and strategy, innovation and investments, and overall value to customers.

However, the rankings we are most proud of come from our end customers: a 4.9 out of 5-star rankings on Google and a 671 Reputation.com rating from job seekers and employers alike. We pride ourselves on providing exemplary service at every interaction. We could not be more honored to know that our candidates and clients see that effort and think highly of our franchisees and their staffs!

We also kicked off the year with our Spherion Let’s Get to Work National Job Fair, when our 200+ offices around the country participated in an online job fair to help job seekers learn about open roles, practice their interviewing skills and update their resumes. Our goal was to fill X jobs in dozens of industries. The job fair successfully connected job seekers with forward-thinking employers. We were thrilled to have this opportunity to introduce businesses across the country to an incredible pool of job seekers who were ready to get to work!

Later in the year, we launched two nationwide recruitment campaigns to help our franchisees attract, engage and retain employees during a job climate unlike any we’ve seen in recent history. The first was the Spherion Works Sweepstakes, which ran through the summer and rewarded Spherion employees for continuous hard work. In addition to offering weekly prizes such as Apple Air Laptops, Nintendo Switches and GoPro cameras , the Spherion Works Sweepstakes culminated with the giveaway of a 2021 Ford Mustang GT.

But the ultimate prize was motivating nearly 15,000 job seekers to find and stay at meaningful employment opportunities. Our franchisees leveraged this opportunity to enhance their existing partnerships with clients  while employing thousands of passionate workers throughout the summer months.

Our second national recruitment initiative also focused on connecting and retaining talent. The Get More! Giveaway, which began in October and closed in December, offered candidates the chance to win weekly cash prizes through an innovative digital scratch-card app. Employees in good standing were eligible for weekly prizes of $25, $50 or $100. At the end of the Giveaway, Spherion entered all eligible employees into a nationwide drawing for three $2,500 prizes and one grand $10,000 prize.

We surprised our winners at their local offices with balloons, confetti, and of course, giant checks to celebrate their commitment to their work. Like the Spherion Works Sweepstakes, the Get More! Giveaway served as an employee retention tool and made work more engaging and enticing for the Spherion workforce.

“We’re thrilled with everything Spherion accomplished as a franchise system in 2021 and only expect to increase that momentum this year,” said Rebecca Rogers Tijerino, President of Spherion. “We look forward to our continued work with our franchisees to make 2022 a fantastic year filled with growth and exciting new opportunities for the brand.”

We’re starting 2022 on a high note by welcoming 6 new offices into the Spherion Staffing & recruiting family! Just like 2021, our marketing and operations teams have many exciting events and initiatives planned to support our local franchises’ recruitment and sales efforts. Our first major marketing campaign, the 2022 Winter Games, kicks off later this month. The Winter Games will incentivize employees and recruiters to connect with meaningful roles. We're also preparing to launch regional and national get-to-work campaigns inspired by successful local efforts that our veteran franchisees have pioneered in their markets.

We’re optimistic that 2022 will be full of forward momentum, and we’re glad to have you with us for the ride!
