Phishing Alert

Phishing Alert
Spherion has become aware of a recent phishing ploy that preys against job candidates. There are ads advertised on Craigslist under the Spherion name, but when a job candidate attempts to apply for the job, they are asked to pay for a background check. The scam attempts to get both payment and personal information.

Please know that this is not a message from Spherion. We do not ask our job candidates to pay for their own background checks.

Currently, the following domain associated with these fraudulent postings stem from Yahoo email addresses.

To search for Spherion jobs by location and industry, go to www.spherion.com. If you have been a victim of phishing, please let us know by emailing phishing@spherion.com.

Spherion places a high value on our workforce and treat matters like these seriously.

Thank you SO much for putting this phishing warning. I was about to respond to one of these ads on Craigslist when I decided to check out your site first because I noticed the reply to email is different in each ad, the posting is jumbled, and they mention a website that isn't listed.
