A Gladwin plastics manufacturer is seeking Level 3 Production Operators to join their team! Ideal candidates should have a background working in the plastics or thermoforming industry as an Operator. This is a 3-2-2 schedule (NOT swing shifts) from 7:00pm-7:00am and most openings are on NIGHTS. This is a temp-hire opportunity once a reliable attendance record has been demonstrated as well as a positive work ethic. Competitive benefits are available at that time. Responsibilities:
- Primarily responsible for operating machinery and providing training to new team members.
- Conduct audits on systems and procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Perform general production tasks to ensure efficient and high-quality product output.
- Operate thermoforming, automation, and auxiliary equipment, such as case tapers, grinders, and stackers.
- Inspect finished and in-process products against company standards to identify irregularities or rejects.
- Ensure compliance with line clearance, raw materials, in-process inspection, manufacturing, and housekeeping standards. Conduct basic preventative maintenance and technical duties, such as cavity changes, and troubleshoot machines for quality issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation and perform administrative tasks relevant to plant operations.
- Collaborate with shift supervision to understand training needs, structure, and individual progress for the assigned shift.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, free of safety hazards and unused items or machinery not in use. Operate various lift trucks used in production and the warehouse.
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent critical thinking skills, problem resolution, and decision-making ability to self-perform tasks and make decisions regarding operations and processes.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in reading micrometers, calipers, digital force gauges, protractors, pressure gauges, and temperature thermocouples.
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 months of experience in a related field, quality inspection, or manufacturing environment.
