Spherion is seeking a CNC Machinist for a full-time, 1st Shift position in Worcester, MA. This role offers the opportunity to expand your machining expertise in a collaborative shop environment with a convenient 4-day work week. You will be responsible for setting up and operating Vertical Machining Centers, conducting part inspections, and supporting safe, lean manufacturing workflows.

Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC Mills (Haas VF series).
Read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings accurately.
Perform first-piece and in-process quality inspections using precision tools (micrometers, calipers).
Maintain safe work practices and a clean work area following 5S procedures and Lean manufacturing principles.
Communicate clearly with management to resolve machining and scheduling challenges.
Self-motivate and work independently to meet production schedules.
Working hours: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent.
CNC router experience (willing to train the right candidate).
CNC programming familiarity (Mastercam).
Industrial saw operation experience.
Prior experience machining plastics.
1st shift / day shift availability.
Education:
High School

1-4 years
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on CNC milling machine / Vertical Machining Center (VMC) setup and operation experience.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings.
Proficiency using precision inspection tools, including calipers and micrometers.
Ability to perform first-piece inspection independently.
Ability to lift up to 55 lbs safely.
Capability to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment and follow detailed technical instructions.
English proficiency.
