Responsibilities:
Setup: Perform complex setups on [Specify: CNC Mills, Lathes, 5-Axis, Swiss, etc.]. This includes selecting, installing, and aligning tooling, work-holding fixtures (vises, chucks, collets), and attachments.
Program Management: Load and retrieve CNC programs from the server. Perform G-code/M-code edits at the controller as needed to optimize processes or correct for tool wear.
Offsets: Establish all tool and work offsets accurately using probes, indicators, gauges, and manual methods.
First-Article Inspection: Run the first part of a new setup and perform a thorough inspection using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, comparators) to ensure all dimensions are within tolerance.
Operation: Operate CNC machines for production runs after the setup is verified, monitoring for any issues and making necessary offset adjustments.
Quality & Troubleshooting: Read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, such as tool breakage, part non-conformance, or alarm codes.
Maintenance: Perform routine operator-level preventative maintenance on machinery.
Safety & 5S: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area at all times.
Qualifications and Skills
Working hours: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Various Shifts Available)
Skills:
Technical degree in manufacturing, machining, or related field
Journeyman's Toolmaker Certification
Exp with CNC or conversational programming
Exp operating a variety of manual machines, lathes, mills, jig bore, grinders etc.
Familiar with Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing techniques such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, TPM, Error Proofing, Standardized Work, Set up Reduction, Continuous Flow, and Pull
Exp in Troubleshooting Problems using quality tools such as statistics, 8D, 5Why, Fishbone diagrams etc
PC computer skills (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, etc..) with the ability to learn other programs
Must be able to understand and interpret blueprints and sketches including proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
Must be able to perform basic shop math
Must have demonstrated mechanical aptitude

High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of two years experience operating CNC lathes and or mills in a manufacturing or operations environment or equivalent education
Must have 1 year exp setting up CNC lathes or mills
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
