Spherion is supporting a new automotive manufacturing unit in Flat Rock, NC. The plant is currently under construction, and the work environment is fast-paced, fluid, and exciting. We are seeking a hands-on facilities maintenance assistant to provide critical facility and operational support, assisting with the physical transition from setup phase to a fully operational, high-efficiency manufacturing plant.

The ideal candidate will have previous facilities maintenance experience as well as experience driving a forklift, specifically in a factory environment.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm. No overtime is expected.
Pay Rate: $20/hour

Responsibilities:
Facility Setup: Installing signage, setting up workstations, and arranging the floor layout as we scale up.
Logistics Support: Moving materials, equipment, and furniture to support facility improvement projects.
Operations Assistance: Responding to dynamic requests from the floor???if a line goes down or a team needs a hand, you???re the first to jump in.
Equipment Operation: Safely operating forklifts to move incoming freight
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Skills:
Industrial/Startup Environment: Experience working in manufacturing, warehouse setup, or a fast-paced environment where priorities change rapidly.
Safety Orientation: Familiarity with basic workplace safety standards (OSHA) and a commitment to maintaining a clean, hazard-free work environment.

Qualifications:
Mechanical Aptitude: Strong hands-on mechanical skills with the ability to safely use basic hand and power tools for assembly, mounting, and basic facility setup.
Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly throughout an 8-hour shift in an active construction/setup environment.
Dependability: A proven track record of reliable attendance, punctuality, and strong time-management skills.
Communication & Collaboration: Ability to take direction from multiple team leads and work cross-functionally to solve problems on the fly.
Material Handling: Previous experience operating a forklift or other material-handling equipment (certification is a major plus).
